On a gorgeous winters day in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Olivia and Benjamin said “I do”. They were married at the gorgeous Cowbell Creek in Austinville, Queensland which created the most romantic backdrop for a day they will never forget. Flashback to 11 years ago where Olivia and Benjamin met in their grade 11 Chemistry class which would explain why these two have so much chemistry oozing through these dreamy pictures!
Olivia said “yes” to our ‘Olivia’ gown which had just finished being made and so it was no brainer that we named this Bertossi Brides gown after lovely Olivia because any fabulous woman deserves a wedding dress named after her (obviously)!
How did you and your partner meet?
We met in grade 11 Chemistry class at high school! Which was 11 years ago!
How did you know they were “The One”?
We have been together for such a long time now, it’s hard to really remember. I just know
that every time I look at him I see everything that we have to look forward to. I can’t
imagine my life without him.
Which Bertossi Brides gown did you choose and how did you know it was your “Dream Dress”?
I chose “Olivia” or maybe I should say “Olivia” chose me?! When I walked in and started
looking around I saw my dream dress! With no label on the dress, Gill informed me that
Anne had just finished making it. I could not believe the day I came in was “Olivia’s” first
day on the floor! Talk about fate!! I was very lucky to be the first Bertossi bride to try on
and wear the gown. So following the Paddington Weddings tradition the gown was
named after me! The simplicity, elegance and the cowl on the dress made me fall in love
with it every time I got to try it on. I feel like this dress will never date, it’s such a dream to
wear and is so beautifully made.
Tell us about your experience at Paddington Weddings?
My experience has been flawless from start to finish! From finding my dream dress, to
the precise in-house alterations, to picking up my “Olivia”. The process has been so fun
and easy. They were very accommodating in customising the design to exactly what I
envisaged. I can not speak highly enough of Anne, Gill and the whole Paddington
Weddings team on their professionalism and attention to detail. Thank you all so very
much.
Tell us a bit about your final look, what accessories, MUA and hairstylist did you choose? What the inspo behind the final outcome?
For my final look I wanted something that was going to be classic and timeless. I wanted
to be able to look back at our wedding photos and still love everything about the look. I
wore my mum’s pearl earrings as something borrowed. I had a beautiful veil from
Paddington Weddings and a stunning hand made porcelain hairpiece by porcelain
flowers by Johanna (@porcelainflowersbyjohanna). My hairstylist was an absolute magician when it came to my thick, hard to tame hair! Mille was super efficient, talented
and made the veil and hairpiece sit perfectly! (@millie.hairstylist) My makeup artist was
Grace Galloway. She was amazing at enhancing natural features and made getting
ready so relaxing. Our make up stayed all day and night and through many many tears
haha(@gracegallowaymakeup)
Where did you get married? Tell us about all of the finer details that went in to create such a fabulous wedding?
We got married at Cowbell Creek. It’s such a stunning backdrop for photos with the
animals and the reception venue is perfect. We gave ourselves plenty of time to
organise our special day and focused on one thing at a time so it wasn’t too
overwhelming.
What made your day extra special?
Being half Japanese we organised a ceremonial sake barrel to crack open right after our
ceremony. When we eventually got it open we served out the sake to our guests, which
was a great way to say hello to everyone.
Best moment of the day?
Being announced as husband and wife
Are you honeymooning? If so where?
We were lucky enough to escape lockdown and go to Elysian retreat on Long Island in
the Whitsundays. Part two of the honeymoon was hiring a campervan and driving back
to the Gold Coast from Airlie Beach over 1 week.
Finally, what’s one piece of advice would you give to future brides?
Try to relax, have fun and if people want to do little things for you, let them. It really is true when people say enjoy every moment of the day, it goes so fast!
Congratulations to gorgeous Olivia + Benjamin! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and enjoy married life!
